School-wide Positive Behavior Support Team Training Manual

Objectives

Summary of Objectives

Training Session Objectives

The content of training sessions should be adjusted to produce the specific objectives of the session. Different content and training will be needed to produce these objectives for different school-teams. It is important for trainers to begin any team training with a clear understanding of what the coaches and team members should be able to know and do after each session. The goal of School-wide PBS training is to actually change the discipline practices in schools.

On-going Technical Assistance

In addition to formal team training, there are several levels of recommended support: Coaches, Coordinator, State Leadership Team.

Coaches provide technical assistance to school and link the school to state activities and trainings. They are available to teams during the year to provide training on specialized topics and assist with communication and problem solving.

The Coordinator and State Leadership Team guide planning and development of state efforts, coordinate training of teams and coaches, and establish regional team structure.
